Many of us as christians live private lives not exemplary to God in that we sin secretly not realizing the grave danger we put ourselves in...simply put, disobedience can easily lead us down a compromised pathway that leads to death,we find ourselves somehow accomodating sins rather than REPENTING OF THEM,we actually end up reasoning to the point of justifying our sins,we no longer see the need to repent of these sins therefore we inadvertently lead ourslves to spiritual death through un-repentance,our hearts become hardened and the result is that God gives us over to our depraved state of mind(Romans1 24-32)... "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts.." 28......God gave them over to a reprobate mind..32....who knowing the judgement of God that they which commit such things are worthy of death NOT ONLY DO THE SAME,BUT HAVE PLEASURE IN THEM THAT DO THEM"
What are some of these sins that leads some of us down that deadly pathway of compromise..in everyday language we need to address these issues because these issues are so rampant in our "liberal society" that they are being disrespectfully brushed aside as no big deal.We tend to rationalize by saying we all have "flaws", God "understands"..BUT please be very wary...please understand this, if we do not confess and repent of the sins we are covering up,of the the sins that easily besets us we put ourselves in a very dangerous position...you see, once this mindset gets hold of us,spiritual death becomes a grave possibility,the Bible clearly states in Prov 28 (13).."He that covers his sins shall not prosper but whosoever CONFESSETH and (REPENTS) FORSAKES their sins shall have mercy.."
If we continue along the pathway of compromise with sin, eventually there will be a major stumbling block in hearing from God..in Pro 28(9) the Bible says..Your very prayer God will not answer, in fact God says your prayer will be an abomination unto Him...in the book of Heb 10 (31) the Bible says it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God...as a consequence of compromise,our hearts become hardened,our conscience become seared,sin no longer bothers us and like in 11 Peter (2) like dogs we return to our own vomit. Jesus says in Matt 13 (15).." for these peoples hearts are waxed cold,ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have closed LEST at anytime they should see and be converted...in verse 22 He says we are like that man who .. heareth the word and allowed the cares of this world( material needs,distractions) to choke him and he became unfruitful as a result.
As alluded to earlier,in everyday open language,we need to openly expose these sins that besets us so easily so that we will be able to see the destructive bondage these sins create...Let's now look at these sins..Shacking up, Fornication,Adultery,Corporate Fraud,Welfare Fraud,Prostitution,Drug Sales,Pimping,Income Tax Fraud,Stealing,Lying..these sins are sins that traps us into bondage....many of us remain victims of these sins primarily because "OUR PHYSICAL SURVIVAL" is funded by the execution of these sins and because of THIS FACT we block our minds as to the consequence of these sins which leads to spiritual death.
I can hear the painful echoes of someone crying out.." I'm am no longer a prostitute,a drug dealer, a thief,a con artist,a pimp I gave it all up to follow Jesus Christ BUT I HAVE CURRENT BILLS DUE that the "BLOOD MONEY" I used to earn from the execution of these sins paid every month on time,these bills included mortgage,rent,car note, clothes,light,water,food,children maintenance and insurance now I have no more "BLOOD MONEY" coming in..I gave my "testimony" to the local church but the help they gave was very nominal,I'm grateful but I'm still faced with the bulk of these bills,the local church offered a quick Bible verse for comfort,a pat on my back,a wide smile while ensuring me that I need to keep the faith,that we all have to go through and they will have my back in prayer. BUT they do not understand I NEED HELP NOW,PLEASE SOMEBODY, HELP ME !! it seems like satan has a hell of a plan to destroy my life"
LISTEN UP,READERS, PLEASE LISTEN UP !!!..this is where our walk with God REALLY BEGINS..this is when God is waiting for us to act and really develop trust and faith in Him... Is this going to be easy?.. a resounding no,this is going to be the most difficult time in our lives,this is going to be a gut wrenching time, by giving our lives to Jesus Christ we have been STRIPPED of all those sinful resources we depended on,all the "Blood Money" now gone..this is when we have to study the Word of God and BELIEVE what IT says..not what other people say,no,what the Word of God Says, in Luke 12 (27-28) Jesus Christ says " Consider the lilies how they grow,they toil not and yet I say unto you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these...28 If God so clothe the grass which is here today and gone tomorrow how much more will he clothe you oh ye of little faith"
We have to read the the Word and somehow believe it,PSALM 91(14-15) says if we set "OUR LOVE UPON HIM",HE THE ALMIGHTY GOD WILL DELIVER US,not our Pastor, not the church members,not our friends, not our spouses, relatives nor our schemes, NO,THE ALMIGHTY LIVING GOD WILL DELIVER US,HE SAYS HE WILL BE WITH US IN TROUBLE AND HE WILL DELIVER US AND HONOUR US" Jesus assures us in JOHN 14(27) that He understands us enough to know that we will be attacked by a sense of panic as we struggle with anxiety so He assures us that " Peace I leave with you,MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES,GIVE I UNTO YOU....let not your hearts be troubled neither be afraid"
JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR comforts us,HE KNOWS what we are faced with ,the uncertainties,the bills,the chaos,HE SAYS HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US,believe me,we have to "BELIEVE THAT STATEMENT" in the book of JOSHUA 1(9) The living God says " Have I not commanded thee; BE STRONG AND BE OF GOOD COURAGE;BE NOT AFRAID; NEITHER BE NOT DISMAYED,FOR THE LORD THY GOD IS WITH THEE WHERE THOU GOEST "
Jesus Christ tells us that at the time of His coming the world will be in a state of apostasy and if the righteous will be barely saved where is that going to leave the un-godly and the unbeliever..1 PETER 4 (18)...so in closing let us pay very close attention to the title of this article.."The sin that leads to death". let us find renewed faith in OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST and build our trust in Him totally...in closing let us pray. .
"Lord Jesus,thank you for your work completed at Calvary by your precious Blood..PROTECT US LORD JESUS from unconfessed sins which leads to spiritual death ,help us through YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to develop total trust "IN YOU" especially during times of material needs when the temptation is so strong to do otherwise.
Help us to depend on YOU as our only source ESPECIALLY WHEN WE HAVE BEEN STRIPPED OF ALL OUR SCHEMES TO SURVIVE.
Help us LORD JESUS through the empowerment of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to stand our ground AND CALL UPON YOU during "BREAKING POINTS IN OUR LIVES".
